Follow the yellow brick road to Lawrenceville to celebrate America’s independence as Lawrenceville's 7th Annual "Prelude to the 4th" takes you Somewhere Over the Rainbow! Held on the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse lawn (185 Crogan St.), the Aurora Theatre and Lawrenceville Tourism & Trade Association will be presenting a special, outdoor concert version of Frank Baum’s classic book, The Wizard of Oz on Saturday, July 3rd. The concert production begins at 7:30p.m. but a face painter and special costumed friends will be onsite pre-concert at 5:30 p.m. to greet concert-goers.

Hospitality Highway Century Ride

Ride starts at exit 7 of Georgia Route 400, and winds through Sandy Springs, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek, Alpharetta & other scenic areas of North Fulton. There are 9-Mile, 35-Mile, 64-mile & 100-mile options. Registration: $35 ($40 if received after July 3, including day of event) & includes a t-shirt, food, water & full mechanical support along the route. Ride is open to anyone 14 years of age or older. Start/Finish point is in the former Home Depot parking lot, next to Publix, in King's Market Shopping Center: 1425 Market Blvd, Roswell, GA 30076. Registration for all riders opens at 5:30 a.m. Anyone who arrives after 6:30 a.m. will not be allowed to ride on GA 400. Race begins at 6:30 a.m.

Third Annual Chattahoochee River Summer Splash
July 31, 2010
Six-mile journey down the Chattahoochee River. Music, food & fun for the entire family at the Power's Island Festivities. Park at MEAG Power, 1470 Riveredge Parkway located near Powers Island and catch the free shuttle to Morgan Falls Dam to begin. First shuttle leaves MEAG Power at 9 a.m. River journey takes approximately 3 hours. Last shuttle to MEAG Power will leave Powers Island at 4 p.m. Bring your own boat, or rent a kayak, canoe or raft from one of the park’s authorized outfitters. They will provide you with a boat, paddles, and U.S Coast Guard approved Personal Floatation Device (PFDs). To register (free) and for information contact Visitor Contact Station at 678-538-1200. The $3 entrance fee will be waived. The Summer Splash is hosted by Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and Sandy Springs Hospitality & Tourism.
