President's Message

2007 is going to be a great year for the Atlanta Metro Region. We have a lot of wonderful activities planned for this year in our efforts to market and promote the region as a tourism destination. I look forward to our first membership meeting on February 7th, 2007, so mark that date on your calendar and we will be sending out the time and location soon. Happy New Year.

SHOWS AND SALES:

The first meeting of the Sales Committee will be held on Wednesday, January 24 at 10:00 at the Hard Rock Café. Anyone who is interested in serving on this committee is encouraged to attend. The committee will begin planning the motorcoach sales blitz, AMTA Days at the Georgia Visitor Information Centers as well as other sales opportunities to offer our membership.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The Membership Committee is busy lining up exciting programs for the year. Our kick-off program is set for February 7 at Stone Mountain Park in the Memorial Hall Auditorium. Judy Randall will share the AMTA Research Presentation with us. We are working to finalize some other exciting programs including a visit to Medieval Times, the Chattahoochee Nature Center and the World of Coke along with a meeting at Underground Atlanta featuring a Transportation Panel. We will keep you updated on our progress. In the meantime if you would like to join the Membership Committee or have any ideas for our meetings, we welcome you and your input. Talk with Linda Harris (City of Decatur), Bryan Hardman (Stone Mountain Park), or Jon Brasher (MAP Atlanta).

We will not be mailing out Membership renewals this year since we are trying to switch all AMTA correspondence and business to e-mail and the Member Memo. All AMTA Members need to re-new in January each year.

Annual Travel Show on January 27, 2007

AAA Alabama would like for you to attend their annual Travel Show on January 27, 2007 in Birmingham, Alabama. This is the largest show in Birmingham with over 1,000 consumers to attend. Please see attached registration form with the details. If you have any questions, please let me know.
